Summary
Glean are searching for an experienced Commercial Finance Analyst. This is a newly created role designed to help better integrate Finance within Glean, whilst offering cross-functional collaboration and additional capacity to support the wider business.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role sits within an existing Finance team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate commercial acumen combined with excellent stakeholder management skills, as well as experience in financial modelling and analysis.
Responsibilities
As the Commercial Finance Analyst, you will have the opportunity to own and drive the continuous improvement of financial modelling, ensuring the business makes commercially viable decisions. You’ll further add value through supporting new product development and commercial optimisation of existing products, as well as enhancing engagement between Finance and the wider business.
Responsibilities will include;
- Being the Finance lead on:
- Pricing modelling
- Cost of goods sold/gross margin modelling
- Analysing revenue streams and profitability for specific contracts
- Owning the financial modelling and commercial appraisal of projects/proposals
- Supporting the Head of Finance with budgeting & forecasting
- Creating and implementing process changes to increase insightfulness of data in Finance systems
- Monitoring cost of goods sold/costs to serve and working with the Engineering team to optimise costs
- Consolidating revenue analysis into actionable recommendations
- Working with the Data & Systems team to ensure improved data accuracy and alignment across systems
- Championing increasing finance engagement across the business, driving a shift to commercial mindset & decision making
Person Requirements
- CIMA/ACCA qualified preferred, would consider part qualified or qualified by experience
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant working experience
- Experience in creation and ownership of financial modelling
- Experience in financial budgeting & forecasting
- Excellent stakeholder management
- Ability to communicate finance concepts to non-Finance colleagues
- Strong Excel modelling skills
- Commercially driven
- SaaS Experience (not essential but desirable)
- The ideal candidate may be from either a Management Accounting or (finance focused) Business Analyst background. You will have an understanding of accounting concepts, possess excellent analytical skills, financial modelling expertise, and be a self-starter
