At Glean

  • Mark is the Lead Platform Engineer here at Glean. He's responsible for our cloud infrastructure.
  • So essentially makes sure that Glean is online and working for our users. 
  • He's also the Chair for our internal LGBTQ Employee network, Glean Pride. 





Before Glean

Mark moved to England from Northern Ireland for an IT apprenticeship in the telecoms industry. Fresh out of school, he got involved very quickly in LGBTQ networks but also using some of his self-taught mobile dev skills to build some apps with his new friends in Leeds.  

Outside Glean

Mark runs his own Neapolitan pizza pop-up creating authentic, super thin pizzas across the North Leeds area.

Career Timeline

Apprentice at a Telecoms company (O2). Then specialised in Service Management ITIL as the Service Manager for retail store systems.

 

Got contracted out to Tesco Mobile as a Supplier Manager, started to shuffle towards the systems side of that and ended up becoming a DevOps Engineer in their in-house dev team. Then in 2020 I left Telefonica and came to Glean as a Sr DevOps Engineer.

Make a banging Neapolitan pizza, AWS, GCP, DevOps tools in general. I do love PHP but that's a dirty secret.
