Step 1: Set your objectives with Glean

Step 1: Set your objectives with Glean

Estimated time: 15 mins

Discuss as a team what you want to achieve with Glean both in the short-term and long-term.

For example, many institutions plan to use Glean to replace the peer note taking accommodation and others look to make Glean available to all students as a Universal Design for Learning tool.

Whatever your ambitions ensure you develop a strategy for introducing Glean for the coming semester; should Glean be something that you have students ask for? Will you suggest it to students who mention certain difficulties? Or will you simply invite all students with a note taking or audio record accommodation?
Step 2: Your roll out plan

Step 2: Your roll out plan

Estimated time: 15 mins

How will you launch Glean to students? Planning your launch will reap huge benefits when it comes to student engagement. We’ve created a template timeline with suggested steps. Decide on your best roll out plan given who you wish to invite and your resources available. Set targets for completion to help stay on track.
Step 3: Send a pre-invite email to students(1)

Step 3: Send a pre-invite email to students

Estimated time: 5 mins

Get students familiar with the ‘why’ of note taking with this pre-invite email. The email lists five reasons taking notes improves learning, and links to a quick quiz designed to get students thinking about their own note taking. Send 1 week before invite.
